Nothing much became of the town until the Wheeling and Lake Erie Railway was built through that territory in 1889, at which time a new plat was made and the names Dillon — and later Dillonvale — were adopted. Today, Dillonvale is a proud village in Jefferson County, part of the Weirton–Steubenville metropolitan area, home to nearly 600 residents.

The Village of Dillonvale Council meets on the second Tuesday of every month at 6:00 PM at the Village Hall. All residents are welcome to attend. Agendas are posted prior to meetings.
